Internet restored.
I really worry how little I can find to do if there no net access. Anyway BT have fixed 7 of 41 cables as of lunchtime and seem to have sorted the 0808 routing out.
Demon ADSL has been up and down like a yoyo all day which was fun.

Old School Google
From the magic web archive.... Googles old servers.
As an aside, I have managed to get 5th on google.co.uk for the keyword Saxo VTR. Not bad considering I no longer have one.

Newsmap
New toy found, this uses google news and then displays stories in a map format based on number of related articles. Take a look at newsmap.

On a lighter note, I will be publishing some links and stuff on here shortly for my interests - web design, PHP, cars and some other stuff which I canna remember right now.
The Register's article on the current BT fiasco makes interesting reading.

Sheer rage at BT for me.
I can't get access to my 0808 unmetered connection at all. I'm paying for it and the freaks at bt can't provide a robust network and reroute calls when a exchange goes down. The internet functions with missing nodes so why is out telephone system screwed completely by one fire?
Exchanges as far flung as Liverpool and Glasgow are now unable to connect to plusnet and various other ISPs.
Managed to connect to an old cable & wireless 0845 account to get web access but now its costs me money to browse above my flat rate :-(.
